A WhatsApp threat message warning of an attack on the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) sent security agencies into high alert on Wednesday afternoon. The message, originating from a Pakistani phone number, was received by the Worli Traffic Police Control Room, raising serious security concerns.
Mumbai Police swiftly registered a case and launched a high-level investigation to track the sender and verify the credibility of the threat. Authorities have intensified security measures around the CMO and other key government buildings as a precaution.
Sources indicate that cybercrime and intelligence units are actively working to trace the digital footprint of the sender, while central security agencies have also been alerted.
