As Maharashtra prepares for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections following the Lok Sabha polls, political parties are intensifying their preparations. Recently, the state government concluded its final session before the assembly elections, setting the stage for political maneuvers in the state.
Today, a crucial meeting of Mahayuti office bearers convened at Shanmukananda Hall in Mumbai, presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Addressing the gathering, Fadnavis emphasized the need for unity among all factions within Mahayuti, the coalition of BJP, Shiv Sena, and other partners.
Taking a swipe at the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi leaders, Fadnavis denounced what he termed as their propagation of false narratives. Expressing confidence, he asserted Mahayuti’s capability to secure 200 seats in the upcoming elections, citing electoral potential evidenced by previous results.
Fadnavis highlighted several decisions taken by the state government, including initiatives aimed at empowering women through schemes such as free higher education for girls and financial support through the My Daughter Bhagyashree Yojana. He underscored the government’s commitment to inclusive development, particularly in agriculture, where measures like subsidized crop insurance and solar pumps for farmers have been implemented.
In his address, Fadnavis also praised the government’s efforts in water management, promising a future free from droughts for Maharashtra. Amidst internal party challenges, he urged unity among spokespersons and leaders, calling for concerted efforts towards electoral success.
The meeting concluded with a recitation of a poem by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, symbolizing the coalition’s solidarity and determination heading into the forthcoming electoral battle.
