Prime Minister Narendra Modi ushered in the 77th Republic Day on Monday with a solemn and emotional visit to the National War Memorial in the heart of the capital. Standing in silence, the Prime Minister paid homage to India’s brave soldiers who laid down their lives to protect the nation, setting a respectful and dignified tone for the day’s celebrations.
The ceremony served as a powerful reminder that India’s freedom and democracy are built on the courage and sacrifices of its armed forces. As the Prime Minister bowed in reverence, wreath in hand, the moment reflected the nation’s collective gratitude to its fallen heroes and their families.
Marking the occasion, Prime Minister Modi chose attire that reflected India’s cultural depth and tradition. He wore a distinctive red turban highlighted with fine golden work and subtle multicoloured patterns, symbolising strength and pride. His ensemble was completed with a deep blue kurta, a matching Nehru jacket, and a white pyjama, blending elegance with a strong Indian identity.
