NCP MP Supriya Sule on Monday voiced strong criticism of the Maharashtra government over its handling of farmer distress amid heavy monsoon rains. Speaking about the ongoing situation in the state, Sule said, “You can see the situation in Maharashtra. The rains are not stopping, and farmers have suffered huge losses. Both the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister had promised to waive farmers’ loans. However, the Maharashtra Chief Minister now says they will do it when the time is right…”
Sule highlighted the plight of farmers who have faced extensive crop damage due to incessant rains and flooding. She pointed out that repeated assurances from the state leadership regarding loan waivers have not yet materialized, adding to the financial and emotional burden on the farming community.
