Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday reached out to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Niketan Kadam, who sustained injuries during the violent clashes in Nagpur, and wished him a speedy recovery.
The Nagpur violence, which erupted on March 17, saw multiple incidents of stone-pelting, arson, and attacks on police personnel. The clashes were triggered amid tensions over a protest demanding the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb. Several vehicles were set on fire, and more than a dozen police officers, including four DCP-level officers, were injured.
