In a sweeping move to combat the capital’s deteriorating air quality, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has unveiled a comprehensive action plan aimed at cracking down on pollution from multiple sources—ranging from outdated vehicles to construction sites and noise pollution.

Speaking about the aggressive new strategy, Sirsa said: "We are going to take huge steps to control the pollution. Our cameras will identify any 'end-of-life' vehicle, 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles, entering the NCR area, and an immediate message will be sent to their phones that they have brought an incorrect vehicle, which is banned in Delhi."

Sirsa emphasized that the capital cannot afford to compromise when it comes to pollution control: "We don't want any polluting vehicles to enter Delhi. We are also taking data from the neighbouring states and texting the owners of vehicles that are 10-15 years old in advance."

As part of the initiative, all construction activities in the city will come under full surveillance. "100% construction will be monitored. All the vehicles entering Delhi will be monitored," the minister added.

To address the issue of dust pollution, Sirsa announced a major deployment of tech-equipped water sprinklers: "One thousand water sprinklers will be deployed, equipped with GPS, AQI meters and geo tags," he said.

Noise pollution is also on the radar, with the government vowing to implement Supreme Court guidelines with zero tolerance.

"Supreme Court guidelines regarding loudspeakers will be implemented strictly. No one can violate them," Sirsa warned.
