In a significant revelation, India has disclosed the identities of several high-ranking Pakistani Army personnel and police officials who attended the funeral of terrorists killed during Operation Sindoor, conducted on the night of May 6-7. The operation targeted multiple terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), resulting in the neutralization of key figures associated with terrorist organizations.
The Indian Defence Ministry reported that the funeral, held in Muridke, included prominent figures such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Commander Abdul Rauf, who is designated as a global terrorist by the U.S. Treasury. This event has raised serious questions about Pakistan's claims of not supporting terrorism, as images and videos surfaced showing military and police officials in attendance.
The list of attendees at the funeral includes:
- Lt Gen Fayyaz Hussain, Commander of the IV Corps of Lahore
- Major General Rao Imran, 11th Infantry Division of Lahore
- Brigadier Mohd Furqan, Administration IG Punjab Police
- Usman Anwar, Legislator from Punjab, Pakistan
- Malik Sohaib Ahmed
The Indian Armed Forces executed precision strikes on nine terror camps located in various regions, including Sawal Nala, Syedna Bilal, and Gulpur in PoK, as well as Bhawalpur and Muridke in Pakistan. This operation was a direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which had escalated tensions between the two nations.
Following the operation, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri presented evidence of the Pakistani military's involvement in supporting terrorism, showcasing photographs of military personnel at the funeral. The presence of Hafiz Abdul Rauf, who led the funeral prayers, further underscores the connections between state officials and terrorist activities.
Among the terrorists eliminated were notable figures such as Khalid Abu Akasha, Mudassir Khadian Khas, and Abdul Rauf Azhar, the brother of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar.
