PM Modi Takes Dig At Rahul Gandhi, Says Opposition MPs Hindered From Speaking In Parliament

na

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took a subtle dig at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, claiming that while many opposition leaders are talented and skilled orators, they often do not get the opportunity to speak due to Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.

The Prime Minister made these remarks during a tea meeting, attended exclusively by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders. No opposition MPs were present at the event.

PM Modi highlighted that opposition MPs are frequently compelled to disrupt parliamentary proceedings because they are better speakers than Rahul Gandhi. However, he alleged, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha does not encourage them to utilize their speaking abilities fully.

Parliamentary disruptions have been a recurring issue in recent sessions. On Wednesday, the Lok Sabha witnessed protests from opposition MPs against three bills introduced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The bills seek to allow the removal of a Prime Minister, Chief Minister, or Union Minister from office if they are arrested or detained for 30 consecutive days in a serious criminal case.
