At least six people were killed and 19 others injured after a powerful explosion struck Quetta on Tuesday, according to local media reports. The blast occurred on Zarghoon Road and was immediately followed by heavy gunfire, prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency in hospitals across the city.
Police reported that the explosion was so intense that it shattered windows and doors of nearby buildings. Security forces, along with rescue teams, rushed to the scene, while the Frontier Corps (FC) cordoned off the area to ensure safety and prevent further incidents.
Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has directed all hospitals in the city to operate under emergency protocols, instructing consultants, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and paramedical staff to report for duty immediately.
