The political tussle between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a sharp turn on Tuesday as AAP labeled Union Home Minister Amit Shah a "Chunavi Musalmaan" (Electoral Muslim). This came as a retaliatory jibe following BJP's recent attack on AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, calling him a "Chunavi Hindu."
AAP shared an edited image of Amit Shah on social media, portraying him in a woolen cap and traditional Muslim attire against a mosque backdrop. The post sarcastically depicted Shah as the "Producer" and "Director" of a fictional film titled "Chunavi Musalmaan," featuring terms like Rohingya, Bangladeshi, Maulavi, Maulana, Imam, and Waqf Board. AAP implied that BJP engages with Muslim communities only during elections to further its political interests.
This post was a direct response to BJP's earlier image of Arvind Kejriwal styled as Rajpal Yadav?s character from the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa. BJP had accused Kejriwal of trying to woo Hindu voters ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections by announcing benefits for Hindu priests and Sikh Granthis in the capital.
