'Acted Like ISIS': Owaisi Blasts Pakistan Over Pahalgam Terror Attack

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday launched a fierce criticism of Pakistan following the brutal terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives. Speaking at a public rally in Maharashtra’s Parbhani, Owaisi condemned Pakistan's actions, drawing a stark comparison to ISIS.

"Pakistan always talks about being a nuclear power; they need to remember that if they enter a country and kill innocent people, that country will not sit quietly. No matter the government, by killing our people on our land, and targeting them based on religion, what 'deen' are you talking about?... You have acted like ISIS," Owaisi said, according to news agency ANI.

The attack, which took place on April 22 in the scenic Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, is considered one of the most devastating terror incidents in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama attack that killed 40 CRPF jawans. Most of the victims were tourists, highlighting the senseless targeting of civilians.

Owaisi did not hold back, slamming Pakistan for attempting to shield itself under the guise of being a nuclear-armed nation while engaging in acts of terror. His sharp words reflected the growing anger across India against the neighboring country’s continuous support for terrorist activities.

Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formally taken charge of the probe into the Pahalgam attack. NIA teams, stationed in the region since April 23, are methodically piecing together evidence, with a focus on eyewitness testimonies that could reveal crucial details about the sequence of events leading up to the massacre.
