Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske has strongly defended the Waqf Amendment Bill, stating that minorities in India enjoy the same level of safety as Hindus and accusing the opposition of spreading false narratives for political gains.
Speaking on the issue, Mhaske said, "In our country, all minorities, including all religions, are as safe as the Hindus are. Our 'mool mantra' is 'sabka saath, sabka vikas'. The opposition does not have the mandate of the people. So they are spreading misinformation regarding Waqf to get the vote of the minorities. The Waqf Amendment Bill has been brought in place to uplift poor Muslims. The opposition is just trying to misguide people for their politics."
The Waqf Amendment Bill, introduced to bring transparency and efficiency in the management of Waqf properties, has sparked debates, with opposition parties alleging that it may be used to take over community assets. However, Mhaske dismissed these claims as baseless and reiterated the government's commitment to inclusive development.

He further emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision ensures equal opportunities for all communities without discrimination. "The opposition is deliberately misleading minorities for electoral benefits, but people are aware of the truth," he added.
