Union Home Minister and BJP's star campaigner, Amit Shah, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a rally in Kushinagar on Monday. He predicted that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge would lose his job after the Lok Sabha election results are declared, while Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would avoid blame for the party's defeat.
Shah remarked, "Mallikarjun Kharge needs to understand that these siblings (Rahul-Priyanka) won't be blamed and that he will be blamed for the loss and will be sacked from his job."
He also anticipated that Rahul Gandhi's supporters would hold a press conference post-elections, attributing their loss to Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). "I have the details of the first five phases. In five phases of the Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi has crossed 310 seats. Rahul will not cross 40, and Akhilesh Yadav will not get even 4 seats on June 4," Shah asserted.
Accusing opposition parties of planning to redistribute reservations from Dalits, backward classes, and tribals to Muslims, Shah assured that the BJP would prevent such actions. "They will snatch the reservation of Dalits, backwards, and tribals and give it to Muslims, but the BJP will not let it happen," he declared.
Comparing the competing sides in these Lok Sabha elections, Shah highlighted PM Modi's humble origins and dedication to national progress. He contrasted this with Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, whom he described as "Shehzade" born with silver spoons, unaware of the problems faced by people in Purvanchal (Eastern UP).
Shah also criticized BSP chief Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav for their past governance, claiming that sugar mills were shut down during their tenures. He praised the Yogi Adityanath government for reopening 20 sugar mills and commended the Modi government's decision of 20% ethanol blending, which he said helped lower fuel prices and provided extra income to farmers.
