Delhi Assembly’s Leader of Opposition, Atishi, has hit out at the BJP-led government, accusing it of failing to deliver on its promise of providing ₹2,500 per month to women. She vowed to raise the issue in the assembly, emphasizing that the people of Delhi had entrusted AAP with the responsibility of being a strong opposition.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP had assured the people of Delhi that in the first cabinet meeting, the scheme to provide ₹2,500 per month to every woman would be passed. However, that has not happened yet. The first installment was promised by March 8, but there is no sign of it,” Atishi stated.

She further alleged that the BJP was making excuses to avoid fulfilling its commitments. "I had predicted even before the swearing-in that the BJP government would find a way to backtrack on its promises. Now, they are claiming that the treasury is empty. The truth is, there is no shortage of money—only a lack of intent,” she remarked.
Atishi compared BJP’s governance with that of former CM Arvind Kejriwal, stating that despite a budget of just ₹30,000 crores when Kejriwal took office, he successfully provided free electricity, water, quality schools, hospitals, bus travel, and pilgrimage services.
