The Ayushman Bharat scheme, previously stalled under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, will finally be implemented in Delhi from April 5 under the newly formed BJP-led government. Health Minister Pankaj Singh announced that the scheme will prioritize the city's poorest families, ensuring they receive much-needed healthcare benefits.

The Delhi government will begin issuing health cards to the most vulnerable sections first, including beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and priority households. The government aims to enroll one lakh people by April 10, ensuring swift and efficient execution of the program.

Speaking about the initiative, Singh said, "The Ayushman Bharat scheme must be implemented swiftly after the MoU is signed. Efforts will be made at the ground level to ensure that the most vulnerable sections of society benefit."
