The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday unveiled its second list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, further shaping the political landscape ahead of the high-stakes contest.

The list, comprising 12 names, features a blend of fresh and prominent faces, signalling the party’s strategy to attract both grassroots supporters and new voters. Among the most notable inclusions is celebrated folk singer Maithili Thakur, who has been fielded from the Alinagar constituency. Known for her deep connection with the cultural roots of Bihar and her strong youth following, Thakur’s entry into active politics is being viewed as a major boost to the BJP’s outreach among young and rural voters.

In another significant move, the BJP has nominated former IPS officer Anand Mishra from Buxar, a constituency with a strong historical and political significance. Mishra, known for his clean image and public service record, is expected to appeal to educated and urban voters.
