The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced key leadership appointments for its poll campaigns ahead of the crucial Bihar Assembly elections. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed as the party’s chief election in-charge for Bihar, with Union Minister CR Paatil and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya named as co-incharges.

The upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly elections will see all 243 seats contested, scheduled for October–November 2025. In the previous elections held in 2020, the NDA formed the government with Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister. Political shifts followed when JD(U) parted ways with the NDA in August 2022 to join the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, only to return to the BJP-led alliance in January 2024, reinstating Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister.

In addition to Bihar, BJP has appointed Union Minister Bhupender Yadav as the election in-charge for West Bengal, with former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb as co-incharge. Meanwhile, Baijayant Panda will lead the party’s poll strategy in Tamil Nadu, while Murlidhar Mohol joins as co-incharge for Bihar.
