In a shocking incident in Chhattisgarh, a 30-year-old BJP supporter cut off his finger at a temple in Balrampur to thank the goddess for the party's victory in the Lok Sabha elections. The incident occurred on June 4, when the election results were announced.
The supporter, Durgesh Pandey, had prayed for the BJP's success and, when his wish was fulfilled, he offered his finger in gratitude. After his condition worsened, his family took him to a local health center and then to Ambikapur Medical College. Fortunately, his condition is now stable, although doctors couldn't repair the damage due to the delay in treatment.
According to an India Today report, Pandey was initially depressed when early trends showed Congress leading. He prayed at the Kali temple for the BJP's victory. When it became clear that the NDA had secured enough seats, Pandey, overwhelmed with excitement, returned to the temple and cut off his finger as an offering.
