Panic gripped parts of the national capital on Monday morning after two prominent schools — one in Dwarka and another in Chanakyapuri — received bomb threats via email, prompting a swift emergency response by the Delhi Police and bomb disposal squads.
According to officials, one of the schools targeted is a Navy-run institution located in the high-security diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri, while the other is a CRPF-affiliated school in the Dwarka area. Police confirmed that both schools received identical threats over email, triggering immediate evacuations and a full-scale search operation.
“Search teams, along with bomb detection and disposal units and dog squads, were immediately dispatched to both locations. Every inch of the school premises was combed thoroughly. As of now, nothing suspicious has been found,” a senior Delhi Police official said.
The schools had already informed parents and safely evacuated students before the police arrived. While authorities maintained high alert, early signs pointed to the possibility of a hoax.
This incident follows a worrying trend in the region. Earlier this year, several educational institutions, including Delhi’s Ahlcon International School, Noida’s Shiv Nadar School, and even the prestigious St Stephen’s College, were targeted with similar threats. All of those also turned out to be false alarms.
