At the convocation ceremony of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a powerful address highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in India’s defence ecosystem. Reflecting on the state’s contribution to the BrahMos missile project, the Chief Minister recounted the moment when questions were raised about acquiring land for the strategic venture.

“When the BrahMos project needed land, people wondered where it would come from,” Yogi said. “I told them I would give land in Lucknow — and I did. National security was on the line, and we accepted that responsibility without hesitation.”

Yogi revealed that several individuals doubted the financial viability of allocating prime land for a defence project, questioning how such an investment would yield returns. “Some asked how we would arrange funds… how the project would move forward. I told them — every rupee will come from here itself. Just wait and see,” he asserted.
