Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal admitted on Thursday that his government fell short on three key promises made to the people of Delhi—cleaning the Yamuna River, ensuring clean drinking water, and upgrading roads to European standards. Kejriwal, however, assured voters that these projects would be completed within the next five years if AAP is re-elected.
"I could not fulfill three promises—cleaning the Yamuna, providing clean drinking water, and making Delhi's roads of European standard. A lot of work has been done for these, and all three will be completed in the next five years," Kejriwal stated during a press conference.
In addition, Kejriwal announced plans to extend free electricity and water benefits to tenants, addressing a recurring concern raised by renters in the capital. “Many tenants, especially those from the Purvanchal region, tell me they benefit from our schools and hospitals but are excluded from free electricity and water schemes. We will fix this after the elections,” he said.
