With the Delhi Assembly elections just days away, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged even BJP supporters to vote for AAP, claiming that they too benefit from his government’s welfare schemes. In a video message, Kejriwal asserted that an average Delhi family saves up to ₹25,000 per month due to free electricity, water, quality education, and healthcare services provided by AAP.
Kejriwal questioned the benefits in BJP-ruled states, asking a BJP supporter where he would go if the opposition came to power. "How many BJP-ruled states have good government schools? Where is electricity free and available 24/7?" he asked, urging voters to press the ‘Jhaadu’ (broom) button.
On Friday, Kejriwal launched the ‘Bachat Patra’ campaign to highlight AAP’s savings-focused governance. He further promised that new schemes, like the Sanjeevani Yojana for free elderly healthcare and free bus rides for students with a 50% Metro fare discount, would increase monthly savings to ₹35,000 if AAP wins again.
Delhi votes on February 5, with results declared on February 8. AAP is eyeing a third consecutive term after winning 62 of 70 seats in 2020.
