Delhi?s susceptibility to earthquakes is attributed to its location in an active seismic zone near the Himalayas. India is classified into four seismic zones, with Zone V being the most seismically active. Delhi falls under Zone IV, which, while not the most active, still poses significant risks due to its proximity to the seismic activity of the Himalayas.
