With just days left for the first phase of Bihar’s Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday made a heartfelt appeal to voters, urging them to give the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) “one more chance” to continue its work of development.

In a video message shared on his party’s official handle on X (formerly Twitter), the Janata Dal (United) chief said that under his leadership, Bihar has seen a significant transformation. “I request you to make the NDA candidates victorious in the assembly elections this time. Give us, the NDA, one more chance. After this, more work will be done, which will develop Bihar so much that it will be included among the top states,” he said.

Bihar will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with results scheduled to be declared on November 14.

Highlighting the progress made during his tenure, Kumar asserted that only the NDA has the ability to accelerate Bihar’s growth. “The pace of development has increased manifold. We have worked on every front — from education and healthcare to roads, bridges, and employment,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Kumar recalled the condition of Bihar before he assumed office in 2005. “The situation was very poor back then. Being called a Bihari was once considered an insult. But we worked day and night with honesty and dedication, and today, being a Bihari is a matter of pride,” he remarked.

The chief minister also emphasized the empowerment of women and marginalized communities under his governance. “The previous government did nothing for women. We have made them strong and self-reliant. Today, women can support their families and children with confidence. We have always worked for the upliftment of Dalits, backward classes, and every section of society,” he added.
