In a major digital push to improve citizen convenience, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has rolled out a faster and more transparent Voter ID card delivery system. From June 18, 2025, new Electors’ Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) will be delivered to applicants’ doorsteps within just 15 days of an electoral roll update—cutting down delivery time by more than half.
This overhaul is part of ECI’s wider digitization efforts and features a robust real-time tracking mechanism integrated with India Post. The upgraded delivery module will allow voters to receive regular SMS alerts at each stage of the process, ensuring complete visibility and transparency.
What’s New?
Under the new system:
- Every Voter ID card is tracked digitally from printing to delivery.
- Voters receive SMS updates at every stage of processing.
- India Post APIs are integrated for better logistics coordination and secured delivery.
- The ECI’s IT-driven workflow ensures fewer delays, fewer errors, and enhanced accountability.
