Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has backed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claim that he is not being allowed to speak in Parliament, calling it a serious issue for democracy.
"Rahul Gandhi is Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha. If he is repeatedly saying that he is not being allowed to speak, then it should be taken seriously. Whether it is Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha… the leader sitting on the top chair is working more like a spokesperson of the party in power. This should not happen. If Opposition is not allowed to speak, then it is not good for democracy. We agree with what Rahul Gandhi is saying," Raut stated.

His remarks come amid an ongoing debate over Parliamentary freedom of speech, with opposition leaders accusing the ruling party of stifling their voices. The Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) have both expressed concerns over the functioning of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, alleging that the Speaker and Chairman are biased towards the ruling party.
