AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday launched a fierce political attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, using recent global developments to question India’s handling of the 26/11 Mumbai terror case. Speaking at a public meeting in Mumbai, Owaisi said the Centre has failed to show the same resolve against terrorism that powerful nations display on the global stage.
Referring to reports of a dramatic US operation involving Venezuela, Owaisi argued that decisive action is possible when political will exists. He questioned why India has still not brought back the key conspirators of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, who are believed to be operating freely from Pakistan.
“Ours is a country that lost innocent lives in Mumbai. Yet the people who planned that bloodshed are still beyond our reach,” Owaisi told the crowd, adding that strong speeches and slogans cannot replace concrete action.
Taking aim at the Centre and the Maharashtra government, the AIMIM chief demanded answers from Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said justice for the victims of 26/11 remains incomplete as long as the masterminds are not produced before Indian courts.
