Janata Dal (United) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad has responded to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s recent comments on foreign policy by strongly asserting India’s overwhelming military superiority over Pakistan across all defence domains.
Addressing the debate triggered by Tharoor’s remarks, Prasad said the discussion must be grounded in strategic reality, not perception. He stressed that Pakistan does not match India in military strength, resources, or global standing.
“What Shashi Tharoor has said should be seen in the proper context. Pakistan is not a superior military power compared to India in any field,” Prasad stated. He underlined that India’s defence capabilities far exceed those of its neighbour, citing the size, technology, and preparedness of the Indian armed forces.
According to the JDU leader, India possesses one of the largest and most capable militaries in the world, with a decisive edge in artillery, naval strength, infantry, air power, and overall combat readiness. He added that this strength is backed by indigenous defence production, strategic partnerships, and growing global influence.
