Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been arrested in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Renuka Swamy, whose body was discovered in a drain near the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. Police have revealed that Darshan allegedly attempted to bribe three men, offering them five lakh rupees each, to take the blame for the crime.

The gruesome discovery was made by a food delivery agent who noticed dogs gnawing at the body and immediately alerted the authorities. Preliminary investigations indicated that Swamy had been brutally assaulted before his murder. He was bound with ropes and savagely beaten with wooden sticks in a shed, as detailed in the police complaint.

The investigation has uncovered that Swamy had allegedly sent obscene texts to Darshan's co-star and girlfriend, Pavithra Gowda. This online harassment and use of objectionable language are being explored as possible motives behind the murder.

In addition to Darshan, thirteen people, including Pavithra Gowda, have been arrested in connection with the case. The arrests and allegations have sent shockwaves through the Kannada film industry and the wider community, as the investigation continues to unfold.
