The Election Commission of India (ECI) has unveiled the draft electoral rolls following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Kerala. Along with Kerala, updated voter lists for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar have also been published. This comes as part of a nationwide effort covering 12 states and Union Territories, ensuring over 51 crore voters have their information verified and updated ahead of future elections.
SIR is a critical process where election officials visit households to verify voter data, remove duplicate entries, and ensure deceased individuals are excluded from the rolls. The exercise safeguards the integrity of the electoral process and ensures that only eligible citizens can exercise their right to vote.
Voters in states like Goa, Gujarat, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and West Bengal can now also verify their details following the SIR process.
Here’s How to Check Your Name in the Draft Electoral Roll:
Visit the official ECI website: https://voters.eci.gov.in
Click on “Search your name in E-roll” at the top-right corner.
Enter your EPIC number or personal details such as name, age, and district.
View your record in the draft electoral roll.
How to Check SIR Form Submission Status:
Log in to your ECI account (create one using your mobile number if needed).
Navigate to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) section.
Select your state and enter your EPIC number.
Download or print the confirmation receipt.
Contact your local BLO or call the ECI helpline if you face issues.
The ECI urges all citizens to verify their details and submit corrections if necessary to ensure smooth and fair elections in the upcoming cycle.
