Shiv Sena (UBT) has launched a sharp attack on the Maharashtra government, accusing it of betraying public trust and failing to fulfil critical promises made to the people of Marathwada. Launching the campaign titled ‘Kya Hua Tera Wada’, Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve, announced an eight-day agitation across the region starting June 5.
Speaking from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Danve said, “On behalf of Shiv Sena in the Marathwada division, from June 5 to June 12, we have started a movement named 'Kya Hua Tera Wada.' The government of Maharashtra has broken its promises... However, the government has failed to fulfill these promises.”
He further informed that this agitation will span nearly 1,900 villages, with protests planned at every taluka and village level across the Marathwada division. The aim, according to Danve, is to highlight the discrepancies between the assurances made by the ruling coalition and the current on-ground realities, especially concerning water scarcity, farmer distress, and unkept infrastructure projects.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader alleged that many of the commitments made by the state government, particularly regarding farm loan waivers, employment generation, and rural development, have remained only on paper. “This movement is not just political; it is a call to action for justice for the people of Marathwada,” he added.
