Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi held an emotional roadshow in Nilambur in support of Congress bypoll candidate Aryadan Shoukath, where she reflected on the overwhelming love she receives from people and reiterated her commitment to the constituency’s development.

Having represented Nilambur since December 2024, Priyanka said she has traveled across the region and witnessed firsthand the hardships faced by its people—especially women, youth, and frontline workers. She said the courage of ordinary citizens in the face of daily struggles has deeply inspired her.

During her speech, she criticized the current government for neglecting pressing issues like unemployment and lack of social welfare, which, according to her, have pushed many youths towards despair and drug abuse. She also highlighted the plight of ASHA workers, who continue to demand fair wages and post-retirement benefits despite their crucial role during the pandemic.

Priyanka also drew attention to recurring man-animal conflicts in the region, noting that she had visited multiple families who lost loved ones in tiger attacks. She called for serious government action to address the growing threat to rural lives.

Slamming the state administration for prioritizing politics over people, she urged voters to recognize the broken promises of the last decade and support leaders who prioritize public welfare. She emphasized that electing Aryadan Shoukath would allow her to work more efficiently for the development of Nilambur.
