'Looks Like We’ve Lost India And Russia To Deepest, Darkest China,' Says US President Donald Trump

In a striking comment on international affairs, US President Donald Trump remarked on Truth Social, “Looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest China. May they have a long and prosperous future together,” posting a picture of the three leaders following the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.

The statement comes just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and President Vladimir Putin of Russia engaged in bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin during the SCO summit. This summit also marked PM Modi’s first visit to China in seven years and his first direct engagement with President Xi in the country since 2018.

During the visit, several steps were taken to ease tensions between India and China. PM Modi confirmed the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, allowing Indian pilgrims to visit Tibet once again, and announced the restoration of direct flight services between the two nations, signaling a move toward normalizing people-to-people exchanges.

Additionally, PM Modi and President Putin shared a 45-minute private conversation during a car ride, where they discussed recent global developments, including the US–Russia summit held in Alaska.

Responding to Trump’s comment, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “Regarding the post I have no comments to offer on this post at this point,” during a weekly press briefing.
