Following the shocking attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence, Maharashtra Opposition leaders have raised questions about the growing threat to prominent personalities in Mumbai. Priyanka Chaturvedi, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, and Supriya Sule of the NCP (SP) expressed concern over the incident, calling it a reflection of deteriorating safety standards in the city.

Priyanka Chaturvedi took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Mumbai Police and the Home Ministry, saying, "What a shame that Mumbai sees another high-profile attempt on life. The attack on Saif Ali Khan raises questions on Mumbai Police and the Home Minister." She further highlighted similar incidents, including the murder of Baba Siddique, Salman Khan's need for bulletproof security, and the vulnerability of celebrities in Bandra, an area known for its high-profile residents.

"If celebrities are not safe, then who in Mumbai is?" she questioned, pointing out that Bandra, which houses several stars, is supposed to have robust security measures in place.

NCP leader Supriya Sule, a family friend of Saif?s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, also voiced her concerns. Sule confirmed that Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized and undergoing treatment. Speaking at an event in Baramati, Pune, Sule disclosed that she had spoken to Saif?s sister-in-law, Karisma Kapoor, who reassured her that Kareena Kapoor Khan had returned home while Saif was being treated.

The incident occurred around 2:30 AM on Thursday when an intruder broke into Saif Ali Khan?s residence and attacked him with a knife. The actor sustained injuries that required medical attention and surgery at Lilavati Hospital.

The attack has reignited debates over Mumbai's safety, especially for high-profile individuals. Opposition leaders are calling for stricter security measures and accountability to ensure such incidents are prevented in the future.
