In a significant development, Maharashtra?s political tussle appears to have come to an end as Eknath Shinde is set to take the oath as Deputy Chief Minister on Thursday, December 5, alongside Ajit Pawar. This announcement follows earlier confusion surrounding the swearing-in ceremony, which will also see Devendra Fadnavis sworn in as the Chief Minister.

Sources from Shiv Sena confirmed to news agency ANI that Eknath Shinde, the leader of Shiv Sena, will be sworn in alongside Ajit Pawar, marking the formation of the new government in the state. The decision to include Shinde as Deputy CM was finalized after discussions between him and Fadnavis.

Earlier, it was reported that Fadnavis would be the sole leader assuming the role of Chief Minister on Thursday. However, the inclusion of Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Ministers adds another layer of importance to the ceremony.

Devendra Fadnavis, who was unanimously elected as the Leader of the Maharashtra BJP Legislative Party, expressed his optimism about the new government while speaking to the media after meeting the Governor. ?The swearing-in ceremony of the new government will be held tomorrow at 5:30 pm in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will finalize who will take the oath tomorrow,? Fadnavis stated. He further mentioned that he had met Eknath Shinde and requested him to join the government, adding that it was the wish of Mahayuti (a coalition of allies) workers.

Fadnavis also highlighted that the promises made to the people of Maharashtra would be fulfilled through this new government.

Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde expressed satisfaction with the performance of the previous Mahayuti government, which was a coalition between Shiv Sena, BJP, and other allies. "I am very happy with the completion of two-and-a-half years. The work done by our government in the last 2.5 years is remarkable. It will be written in golden letters in history," Shinde said, taking pride in the significant decisions made during his tenure.

Ajit Pawar, who has also been named as one of the Deputy Chief Ministers, emphasized the new government?s commitment to efficient governance. ?We will leave no stone unturned in running the government. Party activities will be managed by BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule and NCP?s Sunil Tatkare,? Pawar assured.

The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for 5:30 pm tomorrow, marks a new chapter in Maharashtra?s politics, as the state braces for a government formed by the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, signaling the end of months of political instability.
