West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reacted with deep concern on Thursday following the stabbing incident involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor was attacked at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area in the early hours of Thursday by an intruder. The incident, which has raised serious concerns, was reportedly an attempted burglary.

In her response, Mamata Banerjee expressed her thoughts and prayers for Saif Ali Khan’s recovery, highlighting the gravity of the situation. "It’s very concerning to hear about the attack on noted actor Saif Ali Khan. I pray for his speedy recovery, trusting that the law will take its course and those responsible will be held accountable," Banerjee posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader further extended her heartfelt support to Khan’s family, particularly his mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and wife Kareena Kapoor. "My thoughts and prayers are with Sharmila Di, Kareena Kapoor, and the entire family during this difficult time," she added.

Saif Ali Khan was attacked at around 2:30 am while he was at home with his family. The assailant, whose identity remains unknown, reportedly entered the residence but was confronted by Khan's staff. A physical altercation ensued, during which Khan was injured. The actor was quickly rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment and required extensive surgery due to the severity of his injuries.

A senior police officer confirmed the attack, noting that the Mumbai Police, along with the crime branch, is actively investigating the case. "Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to Lilavati hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. We are investigating the matter, and the Mumbai crime branch is also conducting a parallel investigation," the officer stated.
