“Missile Attack Threat”: Bomb Email Targets Mumbai Vidhan Bhavan As Fadnavis Arrives

na

A major security scare gripped Mumbai on Thursday after a threatening email warning of a bomb blast and possible missile attack was sent to multiple key locations across the city, including the state legislature building, Vidhan Bhavan.

Despite the alarming threat, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrived at the complex as the ongoing Maharashtra Budget Session continued under tight security.

Authorities immediately activated high-level security protocols after the email warned of an attack unless specific political demands were met.

Threat Email Mentions Khalistan Referendum Demand

According to officials, the threatening email demanded that Chief Minister Fadnavis move a motion supporting a Khalistan referendum and condemn the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The message warned that if these demands were not fulfilled, a missile attack would be launched targeting key government locations.

The email specifically mentioned the Maharashtra legislature complex along with several other prominent places in Mumbai.

Massive Security Operation Across Mumbai

Following the alert, teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Mumbai Police rushed to the Vidhan Bhavan complex and began detailed inspections of the entire premises.

Security was also intensified across multiple high-profile locations named in the threat mail, including:

  • Bombay Stock Exchange

  • Bombay High Court

  • Several banks and metro stations across the city

Police teams conducted systematic checks using bomb detection equipment while security personnel were deployed at entry points to monitor movement.

Officials said the threat mail appeared to have been sent to several institutions simultaneously, triggering a city-wide alert.

“Email Received At 6:57 AM”: Ram Shinde

Speaking to reporters, Ram Shinde confirmed that the threatening message was received early in the morning.

He said, “Early this morning, at 6:57 a.m., a message was received on the email of the Mumbai Police warning about an attack and bomb blast at Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan. The email also mentioned four other important locations in Mumbai.”

Authorities are currently tracing the origin of the email and investigating whether it was sent from within India or from overseas.
