Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has addressed concerns regarding Mumbai's safety following an attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence late at night. Speaking to the media after attending the screening of actress Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film Emergency, Fadnavis commented on the incident and the subsequent criticism from opposition leaders.
"The police have already provided all the information regarding the nature of the attack and its possible motives," Fadnavis said. "What type of attack this was and the intention behind it are under investigation. It is important to let the authorities complete their work."
When questioned about statements from opposition leaders claiming that "Mumbai is not safe anymore," the Chief Minister firmly defended the city's reputation. "I feel that among all the mega cities in the country, Mumbai is the safest. It is true that certain incidents occur occasionally, and they should be taken seriously. However, it would be unfair to say that Mumbai is unsafe because of one incident. Such remarks tarnish the city's image," he asserted.
Fadnavis also assured the public that the government is committed to enhancing Mumbai's safety. "We are constantly working to make Mumbai even safer and to ensure that such incidents are minimized."
