Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday inaugurated the Bhayanderpada flyover, a crucial component of Mumbai Metro Route-4A, aimed at easing traffic congestion in the Thane region. The infrastructure upgrade is part of the state government’s broader push to improve urban connectivity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

While addressing the event, Shinde also hit out strongly at the Opposition for questioning the central government over the recently launched Operation Sindoor — a retaliatory strike by India following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.

Referring to the operation, Shinde said, "At this time, when the PM is taking revenge for those whose 'sindoor' was removed, they (Opposition) are asking for an account of how many terrorists were killed? The Opposition should be ashamed... They should stand by our Jawans."

Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive response, the Deputy CM added, "The courage shown by PM Modi to take action against Pakistan and terror camps there... At this time, our Armed Forces should be congratulated."

He further criticized the silence of the then central government during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, questioning the lack of accountability at that time. "I ask the Opposition, when the 26/11 attacks happened, why didn't anyone take action then? Why did they not stand with the people of the country?" Shinde said.
