Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday praised the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Army for their “remarkable courage and precision” during Operation Sindoor, saying their action compelled Pakistan to announce a unilateral ceasefire within days of the military operation.
Speaking at the 61st Raising Day celebrations of the BSF at the 176th Battalion Campus in Haripar, Bhuj, Shah said the operation proved that India’s borders remain secure because of the unwavering commitment of its security forces.
“Within a few days, due to the bravery of the BSF and the army, Pakistan declared a unilateral ceasefire,” Shah said. “This made it clear to the entire world that India’s border and security forces should not be compromised; otherwise, they would have to face the consequences.”
The Home Minister added that Indian forces achieved significant strategic success during the operation by striking deep into terror infrastructures across the border.
“Our army carried out the task of eliminating the headquarters, training camps, and launch pads established at nine locations of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba,” he said.
