In a powerful address during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday declared that India's resolve remains unshaken in the face of cross-border terrorism, promising both strong retaliation and robust development in the region.

Speaking to residents and officials, PM Modi remembered the recent Pahalgam terror attack and said that those trying to disrupt the dreams of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth would have to confront “Modi first.”

"Jammu & Kashmir's development will not be shaken by the Pahalgam attack. This is Narendra Modi's promise. If anyone stops the youth here from fulfilling their dream, 'to us baadha ko pehle Modi ka saamna karna padega'," he said, evoking strong emotional reactions from the gathered audience.

PM Modi also recalled India’s retaliatory military strike, Operation Sindoor, following the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 Indians. Describing it as a decisive moment in India’s anti-terror strategy, he said:

"Remember exactly one month ago, on the night of 6 May, Pakistan saw its doomsday. Now, whenever Pakistan hears the name of Operation Sindoor, it will remember its shameful defeat. The Pakistani Army and terrorists had never thought that India would attack terrorists hundreds of kilometres inside Pakistan in such a way…"

In a move to support civilians affected by conflict, the Prime Minister also announced a financial relief package for families hit by cross-border shelling.

"The suffering of more than 2000 families affected by shelling is also our own suffering… Now those houses which have suffered a lot of damage will be given ₹2 lakh, and those houses which have been partially damaged will be given ₹1 lakh more separately," he said.

PM Modi outlined a comprehensive plan to bolster security and infrastructure along India’s international borders in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Two border battalions have been formed for the Jammu and Kashmir division, and the work of forming two women battalions has also been completed. New infrastructure worth hundreds of crores is being built in the conflict areas near our international border. The government is going to spend more than ₹4,200 crores on this," he added.
