Union Minister and NDA ally Chirag Paswan has delivered a scathing critique of the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, expressing deep concern over the state's deteriorating law and order situation. Despite being a part of the ruling coalition, Paswan did not hold back as he accused the administration of surrendering to criminal forces and failing the people of Bihar.
In a strongly worded statement, Paswan said, “The administration is completely submissive before the criminals.” Highlighting the alarming rise in violent crimes, he continued, “Incidents of murder, robbery, kidnapping, and rape are continuously taking place in Bihar.”
Paswan lamented the growing fear among the public and questioned the state’s inability to ensure safety. “The people of Bihar no longer feel safe and are questioning why criminal activities are not decreasing,” he said.
Underscoring the administration’s failure to curb the violence, Paswan added, “It seems the administration has failed to stop them.” He also expressed solidarity with the families of crime victims, saying, “The pain of the victims' families must be acknowledged.”
Suggesting either a cover-up or incompetence within the state government, he said bluntly, “There is a need for the government to wake up in time.”
With Bihar headed toward a crucial election season, Paswan took the opportunity to reaffirm his personal political mission. He made it clear that his ambitions remain rooted in the welfare of Bihar, not central politics. “I do not see myself in central politics for long... my entry into politics has always been for Bihar and its people,” he stated.
Reiterating his political mantra, he said, “Bihar first, Bihari first.” Sharing his frustration with the limitations of national politics in solving regional issues, Paswan concluded, “After serving as a Member of Parliament for the third time, I realised that staying in Delhi would not help me achieve that goal.”
