On the occasion of 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah acknowledged the public mandate that brought Modi to power, while also emphasizing the urgent need for sustained development in the Union Territory.
Speaking on PM Modi’s long tenure, Abdullah said, “It is good. People have voted for him. He has been re-elected twice in a row...”—a rare gesture of political acknowledgment across party lines.
Addressing the issue of regional stability and growth during a public interaction in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Abdullah further stated, “...The way our neighbouring country is trying to spoil the atmosphere, we have to ensure that maximum development and progress takes place in Jammu and Kashmir...”
