Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday handed out over 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted candidates in various Central Government departments and organisations during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held via video conferencing. The initiative, aimed at accelerating employment generation and youth empowerment, took place simultaneously across 47 locations nationwide.
Addressing the new appointees, Prime Minister Modi congratulated them and said, “I congratulate you all for this new journey of yours. The world now believes that India has two powers — demography and democracy.” He added that the Rozgar Mela is a reflection of the government's consistent efforts to empower Yuva Shakti and make them key drivers in building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
Referring to his recent diplomatic engagements, Modi said, “I have recently returned from a 5-nation visit. Whatever agreements we have made with the other countries will definitely benefit our youths.” The Prime Minister emphasised how global partnerships are being shaped with youth-centric development in mind.
Since the launch of the Rozgar Mela campaign, the Central Government has issued over 10 lakh appointment letters, showcasing its continued commitment to creating employment opportunities and promoting inclusive growth. The appointments span key ministries and departments such as the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will soon begin their roles in various government departments, contributing to governance, public services, and national progress.
In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment: “We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India. In this series, tomorrow, July 12, at 11 AM, I will participate in another employment fair through video conferencing, where thousands of youths will be handed appointment letters.”
