Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday launched a sharp critique of the BJP, urging the party to take responsibility for current issues instead of blaming historical leaders. Speaking to the media, she focused on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and allegations of vote theft.
“In these 10–11 years, there are many things for which they [BJP] have blamed Nehru ji to wash their hands of responsibility. They should fulfil their responsibilities, stop talking about the past, and focus on what is happening today,” Priyanka Gandhi said.
She further demanded transparency from the Election Commission and the ruling party regarding the SIR process. “They should answer why SIR is being done, and talk about the issue of vote theft. If this is not true, then tell the public,” she added.
