Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address in the Lok Sabha on Maha Kumbh, stating that the Opposition was denied a chance to express its views on the grand religious event.

"He was speaking optimistically on the Maha Kumbh… The Opposition also should have been given a chance to present their point because the Opposition also has sentiments towards it (Maha Kumbh). They should not have any problem if we expressed ourselves… The Opposition should have also been allowed to speak for two minutes," Priyanka Gandhi said.

Her remarks come amid growing political tensions between the ruling BJP and the Opposition, with Congress leaders frequently alleging that their voices are being suppressed in parliamentary debates.

Maha Kumbh, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, is set to take place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in 2025, drawing millions of devotees from across the globe. The event holds immense spiritual and cultural significance, and its preparations have been a key agenda for the BJP government.
