Amid the first phase of polling for 121 constituencies in Bihar, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of orchestrating vote theft in previous elections.

Speaking at a public rally, Gandhi referred to his Wednesday press conference on Haryana elections, claiming the BJP and the Election Commission had manipulated votes there, as well as in the last Bihar Assembly elections. “Wherever they contest, they win by stealing votes. This time, voters must ensure that vote theft does not happen. It is your duty to protect the Constitution,” he told the crowd.

The Congress leader also alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was being “remotely controlled” by Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah. Gandhi called for the establishment of world-class universities and hospitals in Bihar and emphasized the need for the state to become a hub for tourism and industry. “Nitish Kumar is not running the government; it is being run by bureaucrats in Bihar and Delhi, Modi, and Amit Shah,” he added.

Gandhi’s remarks come a day after he released the ‘H Files’, alleging 25 lakh fake voters in Haryana, with one in eight voters reportedly being fraudulent.

During the rally, Rahul Gandhi campaigned for Congress candidate Md Irfan Alam from the Kasba seat in Purnea, who faces competitors from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Jan Suraaj, and AIMIM. The second phase of polling for the rest of Bihar is scheduled for November 11, with results to be declared on November 14, 2025.
