Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the Government of India to urgently prepare and implement a concrete and generous relief and rehabilitation package for the people affected by Pakistani shelling in Poonch and nearby border areas.
In his letter, Gandhi highlighted the plight of civilians living along the Line of Control (LoC), many of whom have lost their homes, livelihoods, and loved ones due to continued ceasefire violations and cross-border shelling.
"The people of Poonch and other affected regions are facing immense hardship and uncertainty. It is the moral and constitutional duty of the government to stand by them in this hour of crisis. I urge you to direct immediate action for a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation package that not only compensates for losses but also ensures long-term support," Rahul Gandhi wrote.
