In a rare and politically significant gesture, Congress General Secretary Sachin Pilot met former Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior party leader Ashok Gehlot in Jaipur, hinting at a possible softening of ties between the two long-time rivals within the Rajasthan Congress unit.

The meeting, which took place just days before the 25th death anniversary of Rajesh Pilot, Sachin’s father and former Union Minister, is being seen as an effort to bridge the deep factional divide that has plagued the state party for years.

Sachin Pilot personally invited Gehlot to attend the memorial event scheduled on June 11 in Dausa, the late Rajesh Pilot's former parliamentary constituency. In a show of political civility, Pilot later shared both a photo and a video of their meeting on social media.

Posting on X, Pilot wrote: “Met former Chief Minister @ashokgehlot51 ji today. I requested him to attend the tribute ceremony being organised in Dausa on 11 June on the 25th death anniversary of my father Late Rajesh Pilot ji.”

This public gesture has triggered fresh speculation within Congress circles and Rajasthan’s political corridors, with many viewing it as the first step toward a possible reconciliation after years of public spats and internal power struggles between the two leaders.
