Samajwadi Party MP Ramgopal Yadav found himself at the center of controversy on Friday after a video surfaced showing him being lifted by supporters to get inside his vehicle amidst waterlogged premises following heavy rains in Delhi. The incident, captured on camera, quickly went viral on social media platforms.

The video depicts Yadav being assisted by his supporters to avoid stepping into the floodwaters collected inside and outside his residence. Critics, including members of the BJP and several netizens, criticized Yadav for allegedly avoiding the waterlogged areas by relying on his supporters.

"Ramgopal Yadav made his supporters lift him to his vehicle, seemingly unwilling to step into the floodwaters," remarked one netizen, reflecting the sentiments shared widely on social media.

The heavy rainfall in Delhi, which recorded the highest precipitation in 88 years within a 24-hour period, resulted in widespread waterlogging across the city. Streets and houses, including those of political leaders, were inundated, disrupting normal life.

Amidst criticism, images also emerged of efforts to pump out water from the premises of Ramgopal Yadav's residence, highlighting the extent of flooding in the area.

The incident has sparked a debate online about the responsibility of leaders during natural calamities and their perceived actions amidst public suffering.
